How It’s Made

Every piece here starts as a brief, not a blank prompt box — a palette, a mood, a handful of compositional notes for the collection it belongs to. From there:

  1. Generation. We use commercially licensed AI image models only — every piece in the shop so far, across all four collections, was generated with FLUX.1 [schnell], an open-weights generative model, and the model behind each piece is recorded in our provenance file. We never use a model licensed only for personal or non-commercial use, and we never train or fine-tune a model on anyone's work, our own included.
  2. Screening. Every prompt is checked against a blocklist before it's ever submitted — no named artist, living or dead, no named studio or franchise, no real person, and no specific real landmark presented as itself. Every finished piece is then screened with a reverse-image search, so that no prompt names an artist and no piece closely matches an existing work we can find.
  3. Curation. Most generated images don't make the cut. We keep roughly one in four, and only when it fits the brief, holds up at full print size, and carries no stray text, watermark or signature-like mark.
  4. Preparation. Kept pieces are upscaled, colour-managed, and prepared for print using the print partner's documented process — we only use the terms our print partner actually uses for its own papers and inks, nothing dressed up beyond that.

What we don't claim. Nothing here is hand-painted, hand-drawn, or one of a kind. We don't promise you won't see a similar AI-generated image elsewhere — we can't, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do promise is that every piece in the shop has been through the process above, not dropped in unreviewed.

Why "curated" rather than just "AI-generated." The generation step is quick. The screening and curation steps are where most of the work — and most of the rejections — happen. That's the part we think is worth paying for alongside the image itself.
